Monsters

Monster stats are listed as follows.

½ mv
The half-movement of the monster, i.e. how far it can move during one movement phase of combat.
morale
In any situation calling for a morale check, the monster must roll this number of greater to remian in combat
attk
The #attk and type attk for the monster, listed together, e.g. 2LF.
def
The #def, type def, and if applicable the simul. for the monster, e.g. 1HC or 2MF/2. Creatures which can only be fought under Fantasy Combat will have FC as their type def.
weapon
The weapon used by the monster. Natural weapons are listed in parentheses as the type to use for tables.
armor
The armor worn by the monster. Natural armor is listed in parentheses as the type to use for tables.
ATK, DEF, AIM, IQ
The core stats to use for the monster in any relevant situation.
FC
The Fantasy Combat entry to use for this creature.
Monsters with both def and FC can be attacked according to either system.

Some monsters are listed as cavalry-types. Some have this type naturally, and others because they are assumed to be mounted in combat. If a monster assumed to be mounted later dismounts, assign a reasonable attk/def foot-type to it.

Goblins

Goblins are small, mischievous creatures, vaguely humanlike in form.

Goblins have a close alliance with monstrous beasts known as wargs, hyena-like wolves, which they ride into combat the way a human rides a horse.

Especially large and ferocious goblins are called orcs. Orcs are fearsome warriors, not to be considered lightly. Mighty orc champions will also ride into combat astride a warg.

Cynocephali

A cynocephalus is a man-like creature with the head of a dog. They stand at man-height, and form into kingdoms and nations parallel to those of humans. The kingdom of the cynocephali is rumored to lie far to the southeast, beyond even the explorations of Alexander.

Cynocephali are known to keep small, domesticated apes as house pets, or for use in the hunt.

Kobolds are small, goblin-like creatures closely related to cynocephali.
